“The Gender Gap in Entrepreneurship in Spain Deserves Serious Reflection”

Although women represent almost half of the population, their presence in the entrepreneurial sphere remains significantly lower than that of men, reflecting a more complex and worrying reality in terms of equal opportunities and conditions for entrepreneurship.

According to a McKinsey report, women face additional barriers ranging from a lack of adequate support networks to investors' reluctance to back projects led by women. In addition, women have a greater perception of risk and fear of failure, which limits their participation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This fear is not unfounded; it often responds to an environment that is not yet fully inclusive and does not always offer the necessary support for women to take calculated risks and explore new opportunities without fear.

At WOB, we believe that these barriers must be addressed structurally. It is essential to provide an environment where women find.

resources and role models who show them that it is possible to succeed in the business world.

We firmly believe that access to a strong support network and leadership opportunities is key to fostering greater equality in entrepreneurship. It is not just a matter of increasing the number of women entrepreneurs, but rather to create an ecosystem where all voices have an equal opportunity to be heard, where diversity of perspectives is valued, and where innovation is encouraged in all its forms.

More women entrepreneurs strengthen the business and economic fabric of our society.
