Breaking Barriers, Reaching New Heights

It is gratifying to see how female leadership in Spain is advancing, although we know that the road has been long and not without obstacles. A recent article in Cinco Días highlights that the percentage of women on boards of directors has increased. The number of female CEOs has grown from 2.8% to 6.8% in 15 years. Sometimes these numbers can seem discouraging, but every step counts.

In my role as CEO of Women on Board, I have witnessed the enormous potential that is unlocked when women support each other. The Trust Circles we have created at WOB help and support us in turning challenges into opportunities. I firmly believe that these spaces, where we share experiences and solutions, are key to accelerating the change we so desperately want to see.

While barriers still exist—such as a lack of representation in senior management and persistent biases—the commitment to diversity and equality in companies is creating significant change. Now, more than ever, is the time to build on this momentum. At WOB, we believe that female leadership is not only possible, but essential to the success and innovation of our organizations.

It is inspiring to see how collective effort is bearing fruit, and although progress has been slow, as the article says, we are moving forward. Every woman who takes a leadership position today opens the door for many more. At WOB, we will continue to promote authentic and committed leadership, because together, we are capable of so much more.

Let's keep moving forward.
